Quarter a million bolts on Queensferry Crossing

Andrews Fasteners Limited supplied over a quarter of a million Preload HR Bolt Assemblies, CE Marked (EN 14399) for New Forth Crossing Bridge under development in Scotland. Queensferry Crossing will be the longest three-tower, cable-stayed bridge in the world with plans to open late 2016.

Queensferry Crossing brings an upgrade to the existing transport corridor in the east of Scotland. Construction started in June 2011 and on completion will include 1.7 miles (2.7km) of structure, where each segment is assembled using products supplied by Andrews Fasteners.

The Forth Replacement Crossing will include a major 13.7 mile (22km) redevelopment, that utilises not only the bridge, but also intelligent motorways, with variable speed limits to eliminate congestion and help traffic run smoother.
